Renewal and cancellation
Policy version 2026-10-20. Membership years follow your signup anniversary, not the calendar year. These terms are presented for acceptance before checkout.
Monthly billing
Membership years run for 12 months from your signup anniversary. Billing continues monthly. If you have not used any membership benefit during the current membership year, you may cancel at any time, effective at the end of your current paid billing month. There is no partial-month refund and no next payment. If you have used a benefit during that membership year, you remain responsible for the remaining monthly payments through that year; cancellation stops the next membership year from renewing.
Annual billing and renewal refunds
You pay one annual fee, charged automatically at signup and each signup anniversary. After an annual renewal, you may cancel within one calendar month of the anniversary for a full refund of that renewal payment only, provided you have not used any benefits in the new membership year. Coverage ends immediately on the cancellation date when this refund applies. If you have used a new-year benefit or the first-month window has passed, there is no refund; coverage continues through the paid year and cancellation stops the next renewal. Previous years are never refunded. This is a renewal-payment refund policy.
Request cancellation
Contact Compute Nerds through the Contact page to request cancellation. Benefit use includes a member diagnostic price or waiver, labor discount, included health check, scam assessment, priority service, or included remote session. The office checks benefit use in the applicable membership year before processing cancellation.
What does the first month mean?
The renewal refund window lasts one calendar month from the renewal anniversary, measured in Central Time. For an October 20 renewal, request cancellation before November 20. An eligible cancellation on October 25 refunds only that renewal payment and ends coverage October 25. If a new-year benefit was used, no refund is due and coverage continues until the next October 20, with no further annual renewal.
Existing memberships keep their accepted terms; this policy is not silently applied to an older agreement.
